Our life so far...

Friday, August 28, 2009

Yesterday Sadee and I were in the car on our way home from piano lessons.  She looks over and next to us are a man and a woman each on a motorcycle.  Sadee says, "Daddy that man is naughty.  He's not wearing a helmet or his knee pads.  The lady is nice though.  She has her helmet on.  I'm going to tell on him.  Jesus, that man's not wearing his helmet.  He's naughty!"

I laughed for a good long time at that.  :)
So the kids and I have this thing where I tell them I love them 10, because 10 was the biggest number Sadee knew when we started this about 5 years ago.

Well today I whispered to Aidan, "Bud, can I tell you something?"  He turns his head so I can whisper in his ear and  I whispered "I love you 10!"  He turns his mouth to my ear and whispers, "I want a popsicle!"

Happy birthday grandma Pam!!

Grandma Pam's birthday was yesterday and Cole took the kids to visit her at her grave. The kids loved spending  time with daddy and like the stories that he had to say about her.  " We love you grandma pam!!".

Sadee's first day back to school!

Sadee started first grade on monday. Because i ended up having to work that morning, Cole got to take her to school ( thanks babe, I know you had not been to bed yet since you had to work the night before).  Anyway, "take lots of cute pictures of her first day of school" i said to him. And this is all he took!  So this is the picture you get when you send your husband to take lots of pictures of a great moment.

Sadee's second day of school... ( take two)

Sadee is so excited to have her own desk and about learning how  to read her favorite chapter books on her own.  She loves looking pretty everyday except for doing her hair is no fun for her. She hates it when i want to do fancy things to it. She is excited about making new friends and all the adventures the rest of the year has in store.

Aidan's Thyroglossal Duct Cyst Surgery

On August 5th, little Aidan had a cyst removed from his thyroid.
It was not hurting him or painful to him at all but it was getting bigger. The doctor thought it would be best to remove it now while he is young, to reduce the chances of it getting bigger and the possibility of it growing back.  Thanks to all of our families prayers and Heavenly Father's protection, the surgery went great and he was ready to  get back to watching  iCarly and tormenting his sister very soon after.

Thyroglossal Duct Cyst

What is a thyroglossal duct cyst?

A thyroglossal duct cyst is a neck mass or lump that develops from cells and tissues remaining after the formation of the thyroid gland during embryonic development. It is most commonly diagnosed in preschool-aged children or during mid-adolescence, and often appears after an upper respiratory infection when it enlarges and becomes painful.

What causes a thyroglossal duct cyst?

A thyroglossal duct cyst is a congenital (present from birth) defect. When the thyroid gland forms during embryonic development, it begins at the base of the tongue and moves down the neck through a canal called the thyroglossal duct. This duct normally disappears once the thyroid reaches its final position in the neck. Sometimes, portions of the duct remain leaving cavities or pockets called cysts. These cysts can fill with fluid or mucus, and may enlarge if they become infected. Very enlarged cysts can cause difficulty swallowing or obstruct breathing passages.

Bear Lake with mami and my brothers

 Carlos, Justin, Bryan and me.

Going to Bear Lake with my mom is always so fun. This year was even better because all my brothers were able to go. Carlos was able to fly out from Tacoma Washington this year. The kids loved spending time with my mom and uncles. I just loved being able to spend time with my lovely family. The only people that were not able to make it was Cole( he was in Texas for work) and Carlos's wife and kids.

The Kids love going camping.

Meldrum trip to Moab, Utah 2009

In June, grandpa Mark Meldrum took the entire family to Moab, Utah! It was such a fun trip. We enjoyed every second of it. We stayed in a retreat house and yes... we all stayed in the same house. That was actually not too bad. The kids were amazing and grandpa enjoyed having everyone together. We are so grateful to him for taking us on vacation every year. He is the best!!!
